Rathbones Responsible Business
Rathbones published their first ‘responsible business report’, their stated aim – to “provide an overview of progress to deliver real change; in areas that will positively impact our stakeholders, as we continue to think, act and invest responsibly”.
Rathbones provides individual investment and wealth management services for private clients, charities, trustees, and professional partners. The entire sector has pivoted sharply over the last few years to not only manage and preserve clients’ wealth but also to do so responsibly. The investments they have come with voting stakes which can (and should) be used for the greater good.
And that is why we read the Rathbone report from cover-to-cover because it is one of the most comprehensive we have read. They detail their own internal commitment to CSR and also the direct actions they take to guide companies to do the right thing. They call it ‘voting with purpose.’
The 50 page report is available for free from the direct link below and it is worth 30 minutes or so of your time. In particular the case studies which cover – JD Sports Fashion, Microsoft, JP Morgan Chase, Booking Holdings, Netflix, Amazon, Citigroup, GB Group, SSE, Frasers Group, HSBC and, Imperial Brands – are fascinating reading because they highlight CSR in practice as opposed to theory.
Rathbones aim to be the UK’s most responsible wealth manager this report suggests they are well on their way.
